The Opportunity
This is a permanent, full-time nights opening for a Labor & Delivery RN at a Level IV Maternal Designated facility in Houston, Texas. Level IV is the highest tier of maternal care designation — this unit carries complex, high-acuity cases that require experienced clinical judgment and a team that can deliver under sustained volume. If you are a seasoned L&D nurse looking for a position with real clinical depth and room to grow, this one deserves your attention.
The schedule is full-time nights on 12-hour shifts. The unit operates 12 labor beds, 19 antepartum beds, and 4 swing beds, supporting approximately 400 to 450 deliveries per month. That volume is consistent and demanding in the best way — the kind of environment that keeps experienced nurses sharp and invested.
This facility takes a tiered approach to RN compensation, structured by years of experience, which means your tenure is recognized from day one. Full benefits are included. The team environment is described as supportive, with a genuine emphasis on professional development, clinical mentorship, and expanding responsibility as nurses advance through the experience tiers.
Candidates must hold an active Texas RN license or an active multi-state compact RN license, clear of stipulations. A BSN from an accredited nursing program is required. Current BLS certification is required; additional unit-specific certifications may apply. A minimum of 3 to 5 years of Labor and Delivery experience in an acute care hospital setting is required. Candidates must have hospital-based acute care experience — skilled nursing or long-term care background alone does not meet the qualifications for this role.
If this position fits where you are in your career, apply now or reach out to schedule a confidential call. We will walk you through the full details and next steps.

The Package
Why Houston?
Houston is the fourth-largest city in the United States and one of the most economically dynamic metros in the country. Texas levies no state income tax, which meaningfully increases take-home pay compared to most other states. The cost of living tracks below the national average, and median home prices are accessible by major metropolitan standards — making it realistic for healthcare professionals to own, not just rent. The city is genuinely diverse, with more than 145 languages spoken across its neighborhoods, and that cultural breadth shows up in the food scene, local communities, and daily life in ways that are hard to replicate elsewhere.
Beyond the city itself, Houston offers the kind of lifestyle infrastructure that holds up over the long term. World-class museums, a thriving arts district, professional sports across every major league, and a growing network of parks and green spaces give life outside work real texture. Families will find strong school options across the metro, from well-regarded public districts to private and magnet programs. Outdoor recreation is within reach — Galveston and the Gulf Coast sit roughly an hour south, and the Texas Hill Country is an easy drive. The climate runs warm most of the year, with mild winters that appeal to those relocating from northern markets. Houston is the kind of city that rewards the people who show up ready to build something.
