The Opportunity
This is a department leadership opportunity in Maternal Child Health for a registered nurse ready to carry real operational accountability. The role covers the full scope of a labor and delivery program — daily staffing, clinical delivery, budget performance, physician satisfaction, and patient outcomes. If your background is in women's services and you have been running a team rather than just supporting one, this position is worth your time.
The opening is a full-time, permanent placement working day shift. The nurse manager owns day-to-day operations for the MCH department, with direct responsibility for staffing ratios, employee satisfaction, and the delivery of clinical care across a comprehensive maternal child health program.
Up to $20,000 sign-on bonus is available based on experience. Relocation assistance is negotiable for the right candidate. A full benefits package is included.
California RN licensure is required. Candidates must hold current ACLS and PALS certifications. NRP certification and completion of an Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring course are both required within 90 days of hire or transfer. A minimum of two years of Maternal Child Health department experience within the past two years is required, along with 3 to 5 years of supervisory or management experience in women's services. A BSN is the preferred educational background.

The Package
Why Turlock?
Turlock sits in the heart of California's Central Valley, roughly equidistant between San Francisco and Yosemite National Park — a position that gives residents genuine access to both urban amenities and outdoor recreation without committing to either. The city has grown steadily while holding onto a community character that larger California metros have largely shed. An active downtown anchored by local restaurants, craft beverage spots, and boutique retail gives it real texture. The climate is warm and dry with mild winters, and the pace of daily life is deliberate — something that carries weight when you are stepping into a demanding leadership role.
Turlock draws families consistently for its school quality and relative affordability. Home prices run well below the California average, and the punishing commute times that define life in so many California cities simply do not apply here — most residents are within 15 to 20 minutes of where they need to be. California State University, Stanislaus, is located within the city, which adds an engaged population and a steady calendar of cultural programming. Sacramento is roughly 90 minutes north for those who want a city weekend, and the Sierra Nevada foothills are just over an hour east, putting skiing, hiking, and lake access within reach depending on the season. For someone considering a relocation into a nurse manager role, Turlock offers a quality of life that does not require trading a good salary for a punishing cost of living.
